
The Shades of Gray formed in 2016 with the aim of playing music that audiences of all ages can enjoy and connect with. Blending Blues, Classic Country, and Classic Rock, they draw inspiration from legends like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, George Strait, and a variety of Motown and R&B artists, among many others.

Our song list features music from the 1950s to today, with Blues, Classic Country, and Classic Rock guiding our journey. These genres take us down many paths, sparking memories of the past while creating new ones to enjoy with family and friends.

The Shades of Gray aims to delight audiences with a diverse mix of music guaranteed to bring a smile. We happily take requests and, depending on the venue and event, engage in playful banter and encourage audience participation when it fits the vibe. Our performances are perfect for all ages.

Moe has played with a variety of Houston-area groups, including The Legends, Texas Drifters, Funksion, By Request, The Classix, and The Revelators. His strong stage presence and impressive instrumental skills make him a true showman and a perfect fit for The Shades of Gray. His vocals and harmonies add great value to the band.

Erik has a wealth of experience both as a sideman and a frontman, with over 25 years playing lead guitar for numerous well-known bands and recording studios. He’s not only skilled on electric guitar but also proficient on acoustic guitar, bass, and drums, and he can sing both lead and harmony vocals.

Tony has been performing with various groups in the Houston area since the late ’60s, including The Noblemen, The Essex, U.S. Air Westwood, and PF & The Flyers, to name a few. His stage presence and musical talent make him a standout performer and a great addition to The Shades of Gray.

Tommy has sharpened his drumming skills by playing a variety of genres, including Blues, Country, and Rock. Through attending clinics and receiving private lessons from world-class drummers, he’s developed a style that’s simple yet tasteful, letting the music set the mood. He also lends his voice for harmonies and occasionally takes the lead.
